Birtcher Business Center, Laguna Niguel is a 37-building, 660,000-square-foot mixed-use business park situated on 45 acres in Laguna Niguel, Calif. Birtcher Development & Investments acquired the land in 1977 and broke ground that same year. Construction was completed in 1994.

The Center, located at the intersection of La Paz Road and Aliso Creek Road, houses Laguna Niguel’s City Hall, Laguna Design Center, Hardie Irrigation and various retail, office and industrial businesses.


Birtcher Business Center, Laguna Niguel, through its utilization of both passive and active solar design, was especially significant to Birtcher Development & Investments and the rest of the real estate industry because it stood as America’s first solar system business park.


An industry leader on a development that has shown to be ahead of its time, Birtcher Development & Investments opened the doors to present day green building initiatives.
