Shannon Hondl serves as chief development officer managing development and overseeing land and portfolio acquisition, project underwriting, marketing, leasing and disposition for Birtcher Development & Investments. Since joining Birtcher in 1997, Hondl has built his expertise in industrial development within the Inland Empire, Mid Cities and South Bay markets. Hondl has acquired nearly 350 acres of industrial land in Southern California and underwritten nearly $750 million of industrial developments for Birtcher Development & Investments. Hondl has recently executed a land strategy that has positioned Birtcher with some of the finest logistics sites in most of the top distribution markets in the U.S.
Hondl received a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Portland State University. He also holds a Master's in Urban Planning from the University of Oregon and Master's in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California. Hondl is member of ICSC and the Inland Empire Chapter of NAIOP. He was also named one of Southern California's "40 under 40" in 2006 by Real Estate Southern California.
