Jim Edwards serves as senior vice president of development in the Northwest and manages the operations of the company's Portland, Oregon office. Edwards is responsible for overseeing operations in the Northwest, project procurement and underwriting, public and business partner relations and creation of joint venture opportunities.
Edwards brings more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate development, acquisition and disposition to Birtcher. Prior to joining the team in 2000, he served as vice president for two major national development firms. To date, Edwards has developed 25 industrial, office and build-to-suit projects in the Portland area, managed and sold over 40 office buildings totaling over four million square feet and acquired eight office buildings totaling over two million square feet.
Edwards is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Oregon, a past president of Westside Economic Alliance - Portland, Ore., director of the Clackamas County Economic Development Commission, and member of the Columbia River Economic Development Commission, Vancouver, Wash. In 1965, Edwards received certification in Forestry and Civil Engineering from Lane College in Eugene, Ore.
