Birtcher Northwest
chris@ecologisticsllc.com
Chris Humphries co-founded EcoLogistics, LLC with Brandon Birtcher in 2008. EcoLogistics is a web-based preconstruction system that construction decision makers can use to anticipate the environmental and economic implications of their design and procurement choices.
While implementing the product, Humphries leads a team of construction and development professionals that perform analyses of individual construction projects and develop custom programs for urban renewal districts and long-range facility plans. Humphries also refines EcoLogistics’ decision evaluation software, builds teams of likeminded professionals and promotes the benefits of targeting low-impact, high-value construction outcomes during the preconstruction process.
In 2000, Humphries joined Birtcher where he has been instrumental in completing significant projects throughout the Northwest, including low and mid-rise office buildings, neighborhood retail, industrial parks and infrastructure construction projects. While at Birtcher, Humphries has directed multiple land-use applications in Oregon and Washington including directing the pursuit of land-use entitlements, developing master plans and securing approval for development applications including text amendments and zone changes. Humphries was also the managing individual for Birtcher Development’s Construction License in Oregon.
Prior to joining Birtcher, Humphries received his Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Psychology and Communications from Oregon State University in 1993. Since then he developed his construction industry expertise from four years employment with a local subcontractor and spending five years as a Project Manager for two local general contractors. Graduate of the Leadership Beaverton program in 2001, Humphries went on to be named the “Top 24 Newsmaker” in the built environment for 2008 by the Daily Journal of Commerce.
Humphries also assisted in the LEED® Gold certification of Birtcher Development’s three industrial buildings in Portland, Oregon called Birtcher Center at Townsend Way shortly before completing the national Sustainable Building Advisor program and becoming a nationally certified SBA by the USGBC in 2009.
